About Mrs. Guinon
My name is Mrs. Guinon and I am a Texas Certified EC-12 Music Teacher and Choir Director with over 20 years experience. I have taught Pre-K to 9th grade in Public Education and have taught children and adults in private voice and beginning piano classes.
I am a native Houstonian. I went to school through the Pasadena ISD school system and am a graduate from the University of Houston Main Campus and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music with a related minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. I earned my alternative teaching certificate through the PACT program with LeTourneau University.
I am happily married to a wonderful man, named Joshua and we have 2 beautiful children and 2 sweet family pets. I have loved music since I was a young child and was inspired by my music educators growing up. I have studied music and taught others music, most of my life. I enjoy singing, dancing, acting and all things creative and Fine Arts. I have been in community theatre productions and love attending concerts, festivals and church services.

MARS Music Store (1998-2000)- Admin. Asst. in the Learning Center. Taught voice lessons and beginning piano lessons

Houston Gateway Academy (2000-2005)- Taught Kindergarten through 9th grade (General Music, Theatre Arts Class) with seasonal concerts.

Ashbel Smith Elementary (2005-2007) [Goose Creek CISD]- Taught Pre-K to 5th grade General Music with seasonal concerts/ musicals

CJ Harris Elementary (2007-2013) [Pearland ISD]- Taught PPCD, Pre-K to 4th grade General Music with seasonal concerts for 5 years.

Sablatura Middle School (2013-2020) [Pearland ISD]-
Taught 5th grade General Music and 6th grade Choir for 7 years. I directed many seasonal Choir Concerts and organized several special events throughout the school. My Choir won 3 trophies at the Shadow Creek Ranch Choral Festival in 2018 (Best in Festival, Best in Class and Superior Rating) and 1 in 2019 (Superior Rating).

Atkinson Elementary School (2020-2022) [Pasadena ISD]-
I really enjoyed my 2 years in Pasadena ISD. Linda Fletcher is an amazing Fine Arts Director and my school admin. were great! My music friend is now the Music Teacher there & we chat & collaborate often. Excellent music community!

Lomax Elementary School (2022- ) [La Porte ISD]- I am so excited to be at LXE this year and start some new traditions as well as celebrate old ones. I look forward to meeting everyone & making wonderful music together! GO LIONS!
